I am currently a post-doc at Langue et Dialogue group, Loria, in Nancy, France.
I am also affiliated with the
, the Linguistic Engineering Group, Institute of Computer Science,
Polish Academy of Sciences where I recently worked on Information Extraction,
mainly from medical texts. A few papers related to this project are available
here.
At ICS PAS, I also worked on Polish formal grammar within the framework of HPSG (Head-driven Phrase Structure Grammar) and on a project to build a large corpus of Polish, and participated in a project to build an annotated test-suite / a treebank for Polish (info about the CRIT 2 project).
In 2001-2003, I was a post-doc at Language Technologies Institute, at Carnegie Mellon Universtity, and I worked on open-domain question answering Javelin project; I was also developing a prototype of an English-Polish machine translation system (see a technical report describing the system).
My PhD thesis was prepared in cooperation (cotutelle) between Polish Academy of Sciences and Universite Paris 7.
