In this talk I will address negotiation capabilities of intelligent agents
and their applications in managing service-oriented systems. After a short
introduction to service-oriented systems and intelligent agents, I'll
present an agent-based approach to service level agreement negotiation and
adaptive management of service compositions in the Web and Grid
environments. Then some aspects of negotiation mechanisms between
intelligent agents based on fuzzy constraint based reasoning will be
presented and demonstrated with selected simple scenarios for automated
negotiation in e-commerce trading, service contracting and supply network
coordination. In concluding remarks, I'll outline some open problems and
further research in negotiation agents for management of service-oriented
systems.
